This week Frank Grasso, president of TGI Office Automation in Brooklyn, NY discusses what’s hot and what’s not in his market. TGI sells Toshiba, Lanier, Lexmark, Kyocera, HP, RISO, and KIP hardware along with an array of software solutions.
What’s hot?
Grasso: PaperCut is one of our hottest products right now. It gives you the most bang for your buck and is easy to install and maintain. Just about anywhere you have a lot of people printing they want to be able to manage that and this is a great product for that.
What’s not?
Grasso: We’ve stopped selling a lot of the document conversion software because that’s tied into things like Drivve Image and NSi Autostore whereas before a customer might buy something to convert documents into Word or convert documents into Excel or a searchable PDF. Since that’s all bundled with a more advanced package they don’t need that so we’re not selling as much. We’re going to the next level which includes that with routing and the ability to manage those documents better.
