If industry transactions meant punching a hole in a card, a-la a customer loyalty program, CDS would probably be eligible for a free transaction by now. Earlier this week, the Pine Brook, New Jersey-based dealership consummated its 17th deal via the addition of IT Business Solutions of Rockwood, Pennsylvania.
Speaking of dealers that acquire frequently, there’s Doing Better Business of Altoona, Pennsylvania, which onboarded McCleary Business Machines. Meanwhile in the Deep South, CPC fortified its ability to service clients in the Gulf Coast with the acquisition of Best Copy Products. We’ll begin with a look at the CDS deal.
By picking up IT Business Solutions, a Xerox agency, CDS bolstered its presence in south and central Pennsylvania, and in the process support customers with local responsiveness and national strength. IT Business Solutions’ customer-centric approach dovetails with CDS’ objectives.
“IT Business Solutions is a great addition to the CDS family,” said John Hand, CEO of CDS. “Bob [Hay, IT Business Solutions president] and his team have built a reputation for being deeply invested in their community and consistently putting customers first. We’re proud to have them on board.”
IT Business Solutions customers will receive the same high-touch service with a broader range of products and industry-leading technology options, expanded technician availability, faster response times, and integrated support and smarter workflow solutions for the office.
“Joining CDS allows us to scale up without losing the personal touch we’re known for,” Hay pointed out. “Our customers now get the best of both worlds: the care of a local team, backed by the power and resources of a much larger organization.”
Doing Better Business-McCleary Business Products
This is a case where familiarity breeds transactions. Debra Dellaposta, president and CEO of Doing Better Business, has known Mack McCleary for decades. Her father, Vince Dellaposta, opened Word Processing Services in 1973 (check out our Difference Maker story on Joe Dellaposta this week) at the same time that McCleary hung his shingle. The Dellaposta siblings (including Beth) have spent extended time with McCleary’s children, including at dealer meetings and other trips.

“I’ve known Bruce McCleary for over 25 years. Bruce and his team are a perfect fit for our DBB family,” Debra Dellaposta said.
Bruce McCleary, who will be staying on to lead the transition team, added, “We are so excited to work with Debbie, Beth, Joe and the entire DBB family and we know that this will elevate our offerings and customer service to all of our customers.”
DBB is proud to have earned the Ricoh ProVision Dealer Partner designation again in 2025 and proud of its technicians who earned the ProVision 2025 Service Engineer Certifications. In addition to Ricoh, DBB also provides products and service for Canon, HP, KIP, Laserfiche, Sharp and Toshiba. These are the world’s leading-edge technologies, and the full breadth of those product lines—from desktop printers to large format printers to production printers to interactive flat panel displays and whiteboards to scoreboards—will now be available to the Clarion region. In addition, DBB has an entire solutions team developing and creating digital documents and workflows.
After three acquisitions in 2022, another in 2023, and the launch of a new division, AVYZE! Audio Visual Integrators, in 2024, DBB is keeping the momentum going with this latest acquisition. “This is a strategic addition, bridging the gap in our coverage area between DuBois and Erie,” said Joseph Dellaposta, DBB’s COO, “Bruce has built strong, trusted relationships, and we are thrilled to welcome all the McCleary Business Machines’ customers into our DBB family.”
