Applied Brilliance: Brother Difference Maker Evelyn Pichardo Leverages Broad Perspective

Evelyn Pichardo

Skills sets that are portable and adaptable to any number of business segments can make for a valuable commodity from a human resources standpoint. In the case of Evelyn Pichardo, who currently serves as director, partner experience for Brother International, what crystallized in her mind was the value of her versatility across industries and channels, from B2C to B2B, and the ability to navigate domestic and international markets.

Pichardo has a passport that is well-loved and an influence that has spanned more than 20 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. She is multilingual in both language and marketing scope, aided by boundless creativity and a mind that is strategic and analytical. Her experience may transcend continents and verticals, but she manages to tie it all together neatly by focusing on her teams and leveraging their strengths.

“Whether B2C or B2B, this experience taught me that adaptability and a broad perspective are key to driving success in any environment,” said Pichardo, a 2024 ENX Magazine Difference Maker. “It reinforced my passion for tackling new challenges head-on.”

Team collaboration is the catalyst to leveraging the most out of the creative process, and Pichardo loves how ideas come together to create something bigger than the sum of their parts. “I thrive on challenging the status quo and taking creative risks to deliver innovative solutions that make a positive impact on the business.”

In her role as a team leader, Pichardo concentrates on identifying and developing the strengths of its members. In addition to the aforementioned affinity for collaboration, she seeks to facilitate open and transparent communication. Taken in concert, this approach builds a sense of trust among the teammates and brings joy to the tasks at hand.

Striking a Balance

Promoting an optimal work-life balance is another priority for Pichardo. “I do this by providing clear direction, helping with prioritization, checking in with my team members and each of their individual workloads, and making sure that the task at hand is matching their capabilities and strengths,” she said.

Pichardo also underscores the importance of building strong relationships with partners and vendors, and delivering results that augment their bond. “Having this sense of trust with your vendors is crucial to being successful in this industry,” she noted.

The holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), Pichardo launched her career in the B2C realm, working with household name brands such as Samsung, Rubbermaid and Sharpie. She pivoted to B2B via brands like Rubbermaid Commercial and Welch-Allyn. But during a stint in medical equipment manufacturing, Pichardo realized what she really wanted was to secure a role more closely related to the product while continuing to bridge the B2B and B2C sectors.

The answer was Brother International, where for the past six years, she served as a channel marketing manager prior to her elevation to director of partner experience in May of 2023. She also completed the Brother Leader program for managers.

Pulse of Market

Perhaps the greatest influence in Pichardo’s life is market trends, which are driven by customer needs. “The creativity, innovation, and clever communication I encounter inspire me to be my best,” she added.

As she looks forward, Pichardo aims to augment her coaching and mentoring of team members and peers. She’s reached a point in her career where she leverages opportunities that entail “continuing to take creative risks that solves problems and resonate with different audiences,” she said.

An avid world traveler, Pichardo also dedicates much of her free time to helping others from both a physical and psychological standpoint. She’s an advocate for well-being in addition to serving as a resilience mentor.
