Last week’s article on the three biggest threats to independent dealers was one of the most widely read articles since I’ve been publishing The Week in Imaging. However, as Andrew Ritschel pointed out to me last Friday, those threats aren’t just to independent dealers, they’re to manufacturer’s direct branches as well. I stand corrected.
This week we dig deeper into Ritschel’s comments about the threats posed to the industry when customers bypass supplies/maintenance agreements. And as more dealers expand their services, I thought it would be interesting to talk with Jeff Gau of Marco and how his dealership has become more of a network services provider rather than a dealership that just sells hardware. It may sound like a familiar story in this day and age but Marco has been doing it for some time.
Stay cool.
