Between the Lines: A Big News Week

What a crazy week. Monday and Tuesday I was in Lexington, KY visiting Lexmark for a press briefing. I’ll have details on that trip week. Then back to the office on Wednesday for a litany of interviews, including this week’s interview with Frank Mallozzi, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing for EFI. Also on the docket was a fascinating Toshiba Webinar (news under non-disclosure until next week). Thursday I spent the day sorting through my notes and transcribing interviews and writing. That’s my life, like it or not—interesting or not.

The week before was a press briefing about a new MPS initiative from Supplies Network, Preo Software, FMAudit, and NewField IT. The highlights of that news release, which was officially announced on March 1, are in the News Bytes section below. It’s a sizable initiative and tossing aside the hype, has the potential to change the way MPS providers service and manage their MPS engagements.  What shouldn’t be ignored either is how four distinct partners have come together to integrate their solutions for this initiative.

On the readership front, it’s great to see the numbers continue to rise. Thanks for noticing and thanks for the support. I hope you find at least one item of interest here each week. I’m hearing good things about “What Did You Sell This Week?” It’s a simple concept and a quick way to find out what your peers are selling and to whom.
