March is always a time for renewal as we climb out of the winter doldrums and welcome in fresh, warm air after months of chilly temperatures. One ritual that spans the generations is spring cleaning. Part of that is decluttering your living space, sending those items that you held onto inexplicably either to the trash or a charity. For some of us, it’s about making room for new additions that, next year, might be relegated to the discard pile as well.
Another aspect of spring cleaning is to spruce up those items that aren’t going anywhere. Maybe they need a light dusting, perhaps some polish or other treatment to make it shine like new. Maybe you’ll relocate it to the den or your family room. Either way, it’s a keeper.
With that in mind, we turned to our manufacturer friends who want to remind you what keeper-type gems would sparkle in your end-user environments. Once customers throw out those 1970s-era typewriters that serve no useful purpose and admit to themselves that the IT department wants nothing to do with those 1990s desktop printers hogging valuable real estate, they’ll have space to add something new. Something useful. Something YOU sold them. So grab a brush and some Clorox, and let’s get cleaning, er, selling.
Brother
According to the Statistics of U.S. Businesses, there are over two million multi-location businesses in the U.S. These can range from companies like Wawa with over 1,095 locations to HCA Healthcare with 355 urgent care branches to Burger King with more than 6,700 stores.
In industries such as health care, retail, convenience stores and quick-service restaurants, printing, copying and scanning are essential. Yet many business owners struggle to manage these technologies across multiple sites, especially without an in-house IT person.
For these businesses, a unified all-in-one printer fleet designed for multi-site use can reduce the burden on owners and provide more flexibility and assurance when managing technology. Brother’s advanced capabilities for remote device deployment, configuration and management help business owners remotely manage and deploy machine settings, software and security updates, reducing unnecessary downtime and keeping systems up to date seamlessly. Additionally, if a service issue can’t be resolved quickly, Brother’s warranty exchange ensures the delivery and set-up of a new device as well as removal of the old one.
Brother’s multisite business offerings also provide options for compact, robust machines that can be stored underneath counters or desks to reduce space in brick-and-mortar stores without compromising offerings and features.
Epson
Epson’s DS-800WN EdgeLink wireless network color document scanner fits the needs of a wide range of industries including healthcare, finance, government and enterprise. The scanner offers the capability to support direct access to document management solutions, and all EdgeLink scanners have built-in integrations with supported third-party software platforms. This allows end-users to access their applications directly through the scanner’s 4.3” color touchscreen.
With accurate, high-quality scans at speeds up to 50 ppm/100 ipm and a 100-page auto document feeder (ADF), the DS-800WN can assist with workflows by making them faster, more reliable and easier to use workflows. It enables versatile connectivity with built-in LAN, wireless networking and USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity for easy workgroup sharing. Additionally, it supports ScanWay PC-free scanning, allowing users to scan to a USB flash drive, email, network folders or popular cloud services without installing any software.
For implementations that require fleet management and administration, Epson offers optional solutions that facilitate centralized management, reporting and authentication (including Active Directory) for multiple deployed scanners. The DS-800WN also includes Epson’s Document Capture Pro advanced scanner software that allows users to manage scanned documents and create searchable PDF files.
Katun Corp.
Katun designed its Arivia A3 multifunction printers (MFPs) to deliver efficiency and cost-effective performance while also being easy to install. The MFPs ship with the single-pass automatic document feeder and paper drawers pre-installed, saving technicians valuable time during setup. Additionally, they include full consumables that install in seconds and don’t require a speed license for configuration. This allows technicians to simply unbox the device, connect to power and the network, and begin using for faster deployment and reduced labor costs.
Maintenance is another key area where Arivia focused on for the MFPs. Consumables and wearable parts—such as toner and imaging drums—are user-changeable, making it simple to replace supplies without requiring specialized training or disassembly. A robust developer system lasts the projected lifespan of the MFP, and preventive maintenance kits aren’t required, thus reducing long-term operational costs and increasing dealer service margins.
The Arivia MFP line is built on four core engine families, significantly simplifying training, inventory management and service requirements. This commonality across the line ensures that technicians can quickly become proficient in servicing all Arivia MFPs while dealers benefit from streamlined inventory management.

Lexmark
New enhancements to the award-winning Lexmark Cloud Services (LCS) launched in February 2025, bringing AI-powered cloud print and document processing capabilities to the company’s secure and scalable platform.
At the core of the enhancements is the Lexmark Cloud Solution Center (CSC), an AI-powered, one-stop shop for document processing. CSC captures, processes and routes documents, incorporating capabilities such as translation, redaction and optical character recognition (OCR). Translation breaks down language barriers for organizations with multilingual audiences; robust redaction capabilities protect sensitive information, ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR and HIPAA; and OCR converts scanned documents into searchable text, simplifying document-centric processes.
Users simply scan their document using a Lexmark MFP with CSC capabilities or digitally upload them to the CSC portal; add enhancement steps such as OCR, redact or translate (into dozens of languages); select the destination for the document (email, cloud storage options, direct print or a cloud print management queue); and receive the enhanced document in as little as seconds.
LCS’s other two components are Lexmark Cloud Fleet Management (CFM), which empowers businesses to control their entire printer fleet, regardless of location, and Lexmark Cloud Print Management (CPM), which replaces on-site print servers with streamlined cloud-based or hybrid device control.
The enhanced LCS suite offers the flexibility of a scalable platform, cost savings from eliminating on-premises infrastructure, and continuous access and uptime. Security is integrated at every level, from device management to individual print jobs.
