Phoenix (July 17, 2019) — Scott Purdie, a 22-year sales manager for Muratec America, died July 9 following a bicycle accident. He was 67.
Mr. Purdie’s death was announced in an email to Muratec dealers from company President Jim D’Emidio. “It is with profound sadness to inform you of Scott Purdie’s passing,” he wrote. “Everyone at Muratec is shocked and in grief about the sudden passing of Scott.”
After serving as a regional vice president for Fujitsu/Danka Office Imaging from 1987-1995, Mr. Purdie became a western regional sales manager for NEC. He also served a two-year stint as general manager for OMI Inc. prior to joining Muratec in 1997.
Biking was one of Mr. Purdie’s greatest passions. He was a devoted husband, father and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie, and three grown children, Chad, Jennifer and Justin. A celebration of Mr. Purdie’s life will be held Friday, July 19, 6 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6655 East Preston St., Mesa, Arizona.
