Venice, FL (June 17, 2019) — The Imaging Supplies Coalition for International Intellectual Property Protection (ISC) announced that it had elected a new Chairman of the Board, new officers, and a new board appointment at their annual meeting held June 13.
Praveen Kallayil, worldwide brand protection manager, HP, was named chairman of the board. He succeeds Alf Andersen, contract attorney for Epson. Andersen, who recently retired from Epson, announced his retirement from the ISC. His contributions to the ISC and to brand protection in general cannot be overstated. The ISC and its members sincerely thank Andersen for his proactive involvement and leadership. He will be missed.
Commenting on the election, Allen Westerfield, president of the Coalition said, “Our new chairman, Praveen Kallayil, brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to the chair and we look forward to continuing to build on our programs and initiatives under his leadership.”
Rafi Haqqani, director of marketing, supplies and accessories, Brother International, was chosen chair-elect. Carl Nielsen, manager of global brand protection at Xerox, was elected secretary. Andrew Gardner, worldwide brand protection manager at Lexmark, will continue in his role as treasurer. Jennifer Dirks, brand protection manager at Epson, was named to be Epson’s representative on the ISC Board. Yuki Kawakami continues to represent Canon on the board.
Westerfield went on to say, “Each of these officers has broad experience in the imaging supplies industry and are their companies’ leaders in developing intellectual property rights protection strategies to defend their companies’ brand from illegal activity.”
