Cleveland (Dec. 18, 2017) — Blue Technologies Inc. announced today that following a 22-year tenure as the company’s vice president of sales, minority partner Keith Stump will transition to an advisory board role at year’s end, effective Dec. 31. The company also announced it has appointed Ryan Coleman to assume the role of Director of Sales over its Canton and Columbus branches, as well as wholly-owned subsidiary Blue Technologies Smart Solutions (BTSS), effective Jan. 1, 2018.
Coleman brings more than 11 years of industry leadership experience, including six years with Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA Inc. Serving most recently as Konica Minolta’s Senior National Enterprise Account Manager, Stump says Coleman has the necessary skillset and industry reputation to fill and further strengthen the sales leadership position.
“We are confident that Ryan Coleman is the right fit for this transition; that his expertise will help drive Blue Technologies’ continued success with our ever-expanding service offerings across hardware, software and IT solutions,” Stump says. “From my experience working with Ryan on business opportunities in the past, I know he will align well with our company’s culture.”
Gaining A Fresh Perspective on Established Success
Blue Technologies Founder and President Paul Hanna agrees and says the transition comes with full support from longtime vendor partner Konica Minolta.
“We’ve had a relationship with Ryan for several years prior to this through Konica Minolta, where he demonstrated great technical aptitude with advanced solutions – including some we aren’t yet utilizing,” Hanna says. “I personally obtained permission through our dealer relationship to bring Ryan on board, and am optimistic that he will apply that synergy to help us grow to the next level with Konica Minolta, as well as our other vendor partners.”
Working together with Blue Technologies’ leadership team, Hanna says Coleman’s primary focus will be on further advancing the integration between the company’s hardware and software divisions to enhance its total solution offerings to current and prospective customers.
Coleman says this vision to continue evolving the organization was important in his decision to join the company.
“I’m excited to be part of an organization that has the values, intellectual capital and reputation for a Commitment to Excellence that Blue Technologies does, especially as the industry is transforming at a fast pace,” Coleman says. “The landscape of our industry is going to look extremely different over the next three to five years, so being part of an organization that understands that and is willing to do the due diligence to evolve every facet of its business, from service to sales, to keep up as a technology partner is extremely important.”
Remembering a Legacy of Achievement
Working with Stump on a smooth transition for both staff and clients, Coleman says he knows he has big shoes to fill – but is looking forward to the challenge.
In 1995, after nearly a decade in the office technology industry, Stump joined founder Hanna and partners Bill Nelson and Dave Morrill in launching Blue Technologies with the goal of providing industry-leading products backed by world-class customer service.
Overseeing all aspects of company sales since Blue Technologies’ inception, Stump has been highly instrumental in growing the company’s talented sales staff and securing some of its biggest solution accounts. Recognized as one of the most successful privately-owned office technology providers in the state of Ohio, Blue Technologies has also grown to rank among the top 1 percent nationally in the office technology space.
“I’ve known Keith since 1986; he’s one of a handful of the most trusted men in my life and one of my closest friends,” Hanna says. “He’s done a tremendous job helping Blue Technologies grow as head of sales company-wide since we founded this business together, and we’re going to continue to benefit from his expertise with him staying on as a board advisor.”
