Fremont, CA (Nov. 15, 2017) — Electronics For Imaging, Inc. (Nasdaq: EFII) announced that Winder, Ga.-based packaging printer Progress Container & Display has purchased the EFI Corrugated Packaging Suite, an end-to-end solution that spans business management and manufacturing execution. The Suite, which is currently being installed at Progress Container, includes components for estimating, order management, scheduling, inventory management, production tracking and shipment planning.
The Suite provides extensive ERP and integrated MES capabilities. With it, Progress Container can integrate manufacturing, business and production functions in one end-to-end system to gain operational efficiencies. The Suite is also the only single-branded, technologically seamless solution of its kind, providing Progress Container the base framework to easily expand into new areas such as digital packaging printing services.

Integrated management across the production plant
Due to an outdated management system, Progress Container was facing challenges related to many of its operational functions and did not have the handle on its operations it needed for greater efficiency, profitability and growth. The Suite will help solve that issue, managing Progress Container’s production shop floor from pre-production to fulfillment while connecting three-color and eight-color flexo presses with die cutters, two flatbed die cutters, two specialty folder gluers, two flexo folder gluers and a digital large-format printer. As the company assesses a greater expansion in digital packaging production, the Suite will provide an efficient platform for seamlessly integrating any new equipment and capability into the operation.
