Boise, ID (May 25, 2017) — Kno2, the company that optimizes patient document exchange for everyone in health care, today announced that health care interoperability expert, Erica Neher, has been named senior vice president of partner success after working closely with Kno2’s leadership team since last fall.
An industry veteran with nearly 20 years of experience in leading cutting-edge health care informatics projects, Neher will be focused on enabling Kno2’s technology partners to maximize the opportunities for information sharing internally and across the full spectrum of the health care continuum, including physician practices, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, emergency medical services, physical therapy offices and other providers.
Her natural ambition and passion for health care will help drive rapid resolution of the end-users’ most significant challenges, especially around interoperability and data sharing. Additionally, Neher’s efforts will support broader awareness and adoption of Kno2’s platform, which allows partners to securely exchange patient information electronically via cloud fax, Direct messaging or document query within their regular workflows.
Neher brings an impeccable record of accomplishments around interoperability to her new role. She led one of the first national implementations of Carequality, an initiative of The Sequoia Project that is dedicated to establishing standards for care coordination, and the National Record Locator Service (NRLS), resulting in community-wide physician and vendor adoption of these technologies. She has also accumulated extensive experience working with the eHealth exchange, Direct messaging, health information exchanges (HIEs), population health/value-based care analytics and vendor-specific exchange technologies.
“I first became aware of Kno2 at an industry conference,” Neher said. “I was trying to solve some issues around Direct messaging and they showed me how they could do it quickly, easily and inexpensively. In short order, I became aware that Kno2 was solving one of the industry’s greatest challenges—creating patient-centered communications across the entire health care landscape—in ways that were simply elegant. After working with them on a few projects, I could see that they understood patient document exchange like no one else. I just knew I had to be a part of what they were doing.”
Neher comes to Kno2 from Neher EMR Support Consulting Services, a successful health care consulting company she has owned for the past five years. During this time, she led critical projects for Meaningful Use, medication reconciliation, HIE, process improvement and the adoption of outside records into clinical workflows.
Previously, she served as a manager of inpatient clinical systems at SSM Health of Wisconsin, and was a clinical systems architect at Wisconsin Integrated Information Technology and Telemedicine Systems (WIITTS). She worked as a process improvement project manager at St. Mary’s Dean Ventures after first gaining exposure to health care delivery during her career at Epic.
Neher holds a Master of Science in Communication Research & Leadership from Illinois State University, where she also taught public speaking, interpersonal communication and small group communication courses. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from St. Norbert College.
“Erica is the perfect person to take on the role of senior vice president of partner success and we are thrilled to have her join the Kno2 team,” said Jon Elwell, CEO of Kno2. “The combination of her deep health care industry acumen, her specific hands-on experience with interoperability in all its forms and her incredible communication skills, is exactly what is needed to help our customers and their clients make a seamless transition to value-based care.”
