Part of Larger Branding Initiative for Future Positioning
SmartSearch Renamed to GlobalSearch® Accompanying GlobalSuite of Solutions
NEW HAVEN, CONN., July 11, 2016 – Developer of award-winning Business Process Automation solutions, Square 9® Softworks announced today that beginning Fall 2016, the company will transition away from using the name SmartSearch to represent its Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution. Instead it will be called GlobalSearch®, currently the name of Square 9’s web-based ECM platform.
Since its was developed in 2006, SmartSearch has emerged as a leader in the marketplace. A major transition for the company after 10 years with SmartSearch, the GlobalSearch name change signifies a larger branding initiative to position Square 9’s GlobalSuite of solutions for the future of the ECM industry. However, while the name of the software will change to GlobalSearch, the core product and Square 9’s commitment to making it great, remain the same.
Square 9’s GlobalSuite of solutions, which now includes GlobalSearch®, GlobalCapture®, GlobalAction® and GlobalForms®, is closing the gap between web and desktop applications with enhanced browser-based functionality. The naming convention better represents Square 9 and the company’s continued growth in a globally competitive marketplace.
“We selected the name GlobalSearch as a replacement because we felt it better represents our ability to share content to a global community of users,” said Stephen Young, CEO, Square 9 Softworks. “The GlobalSuite branding is a convention that accurately depicts a multi-line solution offering, that is both easy to understand and consistent.”
The Summer Release of SmartSearch 4.4 in July 2016, will be the last version using the SmartSearch name. The following Winter Release in late November, will be named GlobalSearch 4.5. All future updates and releases will be referred to as GlobalSearch and reflected within the actual software at that time. The GlobalSearch brand name will be represented for on premise, web and cloud-based platforms.
