Almost Half of Kofax’s 114 Patents Granted and Pending Relate to Mobile Imaging Technologies
IRVINE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Kofax® Limited (NASDAQ: KFX)(LSE: KFX), a leading provider of smart process applications for the business critical First Mile™ of customer interactions, today reported it was issued three new patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The Company now has 54 issued patents and 60 pending applications, with 47 percent of the total relating to mobile imaging technologies.

U.S. Patent No. 8,855,375 secures Kofax’s uniquely powerful and efficient approach to page detection, and U.S. Patent No. 8,855,425 secures Kofax’s blur detection feature, with both in the context of mobile image capture and document analysis. U.S. Patent No. 8,885,229 secures these features, among others, in the context of a powerful video-capture user experience. These issuances reinforce and protect the intellectual property in Kofax’s innovative mobile technology, and are evidence of the company’s contribution and commitment to the mobile marketplace.
In parallel, Kofax has received official notification from the International Search Authority (ISA) of the novel and significantly inventive status of this technology, as embodied in International Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Application No. U.S. 2013/021336. International patent protection will follow the U.S. issuance upon completing formal examination in the various countries where Kofax conducts business.
