Industry Veteran Barry Taylor Passes
Nov. 21, 2013 – Barry Taylor, CEO of Taylor Made Business Systems, a managed print services company, died Saturday, Nov. 16 from a heart attack at the age of 74.
According to the Taylor Made Business Systems Website, Taylor founded his first company in 1972. By 1989, when he sold, it had become one of the largest office-equipment dealers in America. Entering the new millennium Barry established two new companies. Taylor Made Water Systems was motivated by a desire to provide employees better water and richer coffee on demand. The catalyst for Taylor Made Digital Systems was the thousands of customers who were unhappy with the pricing and support from their office equipment vendor. Taylor Made Digital Systems joined forces with Ricoh Corporation in 2006.
In 2009 Taylor once again saw a need for great office technology and a way to help customers control their print costs and spending. After two years of researching the marketplace and creating the best business partners in current office technology, in 2011 he started Taylor Made Business Systems.
In addition to his long stored career in the office technology industry, Taylor is co-founder of The Taylor Family Foundation and Camp Arroyo in Livermore, where he spent more than 20 years helping seriously ill and at-risk children be themselves.
A public celebration of Barry Taylor’s life will be held Jan. 11 at 3 p.m. at Camp Arroyo in Livermore. The camp is at 5555 Arroyo Rd. For more information, call (925) 455-5118.

New Formax V-Stack36 Vertical Stacker
Nov. 20, 2013 – The new Formax V-Stack36 Vertical Stacker from Formax can increase efficiency and processing speed when used in conjunction with high-capacity pressure sealers and document folders. Unlike a traditional outfeed conveyor, the V-Stack36 stacks forms vertically, providing a neat stack which is easier to unload for further processing. The V-Stack36 is compatible with a variety of Formax document folders and pressure sealers, including the FD 38X, FD 2054, FD 2094 and 2200 Series.
With photo-eye activation, the V-Stack36 neatly stacks up to 22 inches of processed documents. The infeed features a six-ball-roller deck and two guide wheels to ensure forms enter the stacker smoothly, and an LED lamp which alerts operators when the stacker is near full capacity. Its vertical paper stop adjusts to accommodate document sizes and fold types up to 7 inches.
An interlock is available for the FD 38X, FD 2054, and production pressure sealers, which automatically stops the stacker and the source machine when the stacker is at full capacity.
The optional V-Stack36-10 stand is height-adjustable to align with a variety of inputs, and has locking casters for easy mobility. It’s required for use with production pressure sealers, and optional for tabletop pressure sealers and folders.
