Preton and SYNNEX Corporation Sign Distribution Agreement
Oct. 1, 2013 – Preton, a provider of printing cost reduction software, has announced that the company has signed a distribution agreement with SYNNEX Corporation, a distributor of IT products and services. As part of this distribution agreement, SYNNEX is providing Preton’s PretonSaver software through SYNNEX’ PRINTSolv platform that SYNNEX makes available to managed print service (MPS) providers across the United States and Canada.
PretonSaver is an advanced print management software application that gathers and provides detailed print usage data for optimizing organizational printing activities. PretonSaver collects a robust set of user focused reporting data from all network and locally connected printers and includes extensive print rules with policy enforcement capabilities.
By delivering these key PretonSaver capabilities together with PRINTSolv, MPS providers using PRINTSolv can provide their customers with a stronger and more complete view of the entire printing environment and be in the position to offer better solutions for optimizing printing activities.

BTA Southeast Hosts Fall Colors Retreat Oct. 25-26 in Waynesville, NC
Oct. 2, 2013 — On Oct. 25-26, 2013, the BTA Southeast district will host its annual Fall Colors Retreat at the Waynesville Inn Golf Resort & Spa in Waynesville, N.C. The event will include a round-table discussion and three educational sessions led by industry leaders, providing insight and strategies that can help any office technology dealership reach new heights. Dealers will be able to participate in networking events that will allow them to connect with their peers, including a welcoming reception on Oct. 25 and a dinner on Oct. 26. In addition, there will be time to visit with exhibiting sponsors. Dealer attendees can also enter on site for a chance to win one of five $100 American Express gift cards from BTA Southeast.
The Fall Colors Retreat will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, with a round-table discussion, “Additional Revenue Sources from Service,” led by the BTA Southeast leadership team. Attendees will be able to ask questions of and receive answers from the BTA Southeast leadership team and their peers, and they will be able to share ideas with the group and receive feedback. A welcoming reception will follow the round table from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., giving attendees time to network with peers and visit with exhibiting sponsors.
A breakfast buffet will be held from 7 to 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, followed by three educational sessions and breaks that will give attendees time to visit with sponsors. From 12:30 until 6:30 p.m., attendees will have time to explore the Waynesville area and enjoy the fall colors, play a round of golf or just relax. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a closing presentation.

DocuWorld 2014 to be Held in Las Vegas in May
Oct. 1, 2013 – DocuWare Corporation will hold its annual conference, DocuWorld, May 7-9, 2014 in Las Vegas at the Red Rock Resort & Spa, Las Vegas. DocuWare’s latest version release, DocuWare 6.5, will be the focus of multiple training workshops as well as the highlight of the General Sessions. Product managers will demonstrate the latest features and applications of the new release.
The conference will feature keynote speaker Alison Levine, team captain of the first American women’s Everest expedition and former adjunct professor, US Military Academy. Bell and Howell CEO Leslie Stern Steps Down
Sept. 30, 2013 – Bell and Howell, LLC has announced that Leslie Stern is stepping down as the Company’s CEO for personal reasons. The Board of Directors has appointed one of its members, Kamal Advani of controlling shareholder Versa Capital Management, LLC, as Interim CEO to serve until a permanent successor is found, a process targeted for conclusion by year-end. Advani has nearly 30 years of finance and operating experience in a variety of industries. He has held senior financial and operating roles at several companies driving growth and value creation.
