M&A activity continues at a brisk pace with a pair of deals that were announced too late for inclusion in our May 6 newsletter. That’s essentially four deals in a week’s time, and a number of dealers have intimated they are on the brink of closing out additions to their organizations.
Sweeping up last week, Doing Better Business (DBB) of Altoona, Pennsylvania, onboarded Multiscope Document Solutions, with locations in Bridgeville and Erie, Pennsylvania. In the Deep South, EDGE Business Systems of Atlanta inked an accord to add North Georgia Business Machines, a multi-line dealer based in Dalton, Georgia.
In another deal completed last month, ACT Group of Cromwell, Connecticut, has merged with BDS of Marlborough, Massachusetts.
Multiscope is a leading provider of managed document and print solutions that was founded in 2009 by Michael McCay as a provider of production print and enterprise fleet solutions. A Canon dealer with Toshiba and HP products under its flag, Multiscope helps solidify DBB as the region’s largest and most successful independent provider of office technology products and services, according to Debra Dellaposta, DBB’s president and CEO.
The deal also sees DBB retain Multiscope’s entire technical and solutions team to continue providing top-flight customer service to Multiscope’s client base.
“We see this as a great opportunity to provide cross-training across our entire organization to be able to deliver our award-winning level of customer service to the greatest number of organizations, regardless of brand,” Dellaposta said. “Every acquisition brings even more talent as we continue to expand our array of cloud solutions to help our customers do better business.

Industry veteran Woodrow (Woody) Moss will be leading Multiscope as vice president of sales. “I am so excited to be a part of the DBB Family,” he said. “I am confident from what I have experienced so far that this is a great opportunity for us to really grow in all of our markets.”
DBB continues to aggressively expand and is excited about the growth potential in the Erie market. “The timing is right for this expansion, as all of our manufacturers have repeatedly asked us to move into this space,” said Joseph Dellaposta, chief operations officer for DBB. “We wish Mike (McCay) all the best on his next adventure, and we are committed to making sure all of the Multiscope customers are extremely happy.”
Deb Dellaposta noted the company is exploring further opportunities, some of which she expects to announce in the coming months.
