Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker and Secretary of State Jesse White joined DOT Security, a managed security service provider (MSSP), to celebrate the grand opening of the company’s new Security Operations Center (SOC). The private event included a speech given by Governor Pritzker, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the exclusive opportunity to see the SOC, which is otherwise closed to the public, through a guided tour. Attendees also had the chance to meet DOT Security CEO Jeff Leder and Chief Strategy Officer Humberto Gauna, as well as Frank Cucco, chairman of the board of directors, and Patrick Layton, executive director of the board.
Cybersecurity is a race without a finish line, and the rate of change is accelerating. “Many organizations cannot keep up with the growing scale and scope of security operations, increasing the potential for a devastating cyberattack or data breach,” Pritzker said. “That is what makes companies like DOT Security, that stand ready to help businesses of all sizes right here in Illinois and across the country, so critical to our future.”
As a complete cybersecurity service provider, DOT Security has a three-pronged system, protecting clients with its people, approach, and technology. The brand-new, state-of-the-art SOC is an 18,900 sq. ft. building with an 11,040px x 2,700px LED screen at the forefront and was purposefully designed to enable employees to monitor client networks and prevent, detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats around the clock. After performing an in-depth risk audit, DOT Security’s experts and analysts draw from best-in-class cybersecurity frameworks when building a custom solution tailored to each unique business.
Governor Pritzker commended DOT Security for its leadership in cybersecurity. “Cutting the ribbon today has inaugurated a new era of empowerment. I congratulate the advocates who made it a reality and I want to leave you with a monumental thank you for the work you’ve already done, and the inspiring vision you have for our future.”
Now more than ever, companies across the world are continuing to invest in technology to run their businesses and layering more systems into their IT networks to support remote work, improve the customer experience, and generate value, all of which create potential new vulnerabilities. In its first year, DOT Security will create more than 150 jobs in Illinois to help strengthen our nation’s resilience against cyberattacks.
