This week Sherrié Lucas, director of marketing with Copiers Plus, Inc., in Fayettville, NC, shares what’s hot and what’s not in her market. Copiers Plus represents Kyocera, Canon, Muratec, and OKI Data.
What’s hot?
Lucas: Our inPrint www.inprintmps.com Managed Print Services program is on fire. It’s an awesome solution. Color is also big. As with all technology, as time has passed color has become so much more affordable. It is a great marketing and in-house printing tool for stationary and envelopes in small businesses and churches. Apps are also big. We have applications for every industry: medical, legal, manufacturing. Apps take every day business tasks and turn them into an efficient workflow based on the client’s individual needs. Security issues are also addressed with our Apps, allowing prints to only generate with the scan of an employee’s card. It’s about solutions in today’s business world.
What’s not?
Lucas: In our business, that’s a hard one. There will always be a place for our products, whether a company needs full application capabilities for scanning, filing, mobile print or testing in education or if they just need to be connected to a single computer for printing. We see that a lot in small churches. There’s a place for everything we have to offer. If I had to pick one thing, I guess I would have to pick the standalone fax machine. Now we sell mostly MFP’s that print, scan, copy, fax and Internet fax. It just makes sense since most who do fax, even heavy faxing such as medical, still need a device that offers scan, print and copy. With today’s Internet fax applications, the standalone fax may soon be a thing of the past.
