This week Mike McGuirk, president of ProCopy Office Solutions in Tempe, AZ, identifies what’s hot and what’s not in his market. ProCopy is a Canon and Ricoh dealership with $12 million in annual revenues. They also offer MPS, MNS, and facilities management.
What’s hot?
McGuirk: Production color. We’re starting to get involved in that. We didn’t have a lot of big company wins but now we’ve clustered a couple of those together, which include at least one production type color [device].
What’s not?
McGuirk: Margins on MPS; every time we sit down with a customer we always start at 50 points and the ability to turn that into a 50-point deal, but those margins are much less than they were when MPS first hit six or seven years ago.
