This week Kyle Ruhland, marketing director, for Century Business Products in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, shares what’s hot and what’s not in Century’s market. Century sells Kyocera and Konica Minolta equipment along with MPS and document management.
What’s hot?
Ruhland: The new Kyocera MFPs and printers with AirPrint. It’s standard on the product line now and we’ve had three or four sales over the last week where that was a need rather than having a third-party piece of equipment to integrate for printing.
What’s not?
Ruhland: Fax. You’d be surprised, it’s a dying, but it’s interesting because with all the compliance and regulations in our area we’re still seeing medical and banking industries living and dying by fax machines. Yet we have more security, more confidentially, encryption standards and all these things happening with scans and they’re slowly evolving to evolving to that area. It’s interesting that our larger customers are not going there.
