This week we speak with John Lowery, president of Applied Imaging in Grand Rapids, MI, about what’s hot and what’s not in his markets. Applied Imaging is a long-time Ricoh dealer.
What’s hot?
Lowery: Production print has been great for us. This Ricoh 5100 Series is going to be a terrific unit for us and on the Canon side, Uniflow has been a terrific solution.
What’s not?
Lowery: Printers. Eight or nine years ago we said we have to be in the printer business and we have to be printer centric and focus on that. That really helped us get our arms around the output in the accounts we had. But the one thing we’ve noticed over the last three years was a big shift of people printing more to MFPs than single function. That’s a good thing because typically printers are more expensive to operate.
