Tim Seeley, vice president of sales, with Seeley Office Systems in Glens Falls, NY, shares what’s hot and what’s not in his market. Seeley sells Konica Minolta and Muratec products as well as office supplies through United Stationers.
What’s hot?
Seeley: [An MPS program that focuses on] remanufactured toner cartridges. We’re keeping MPS simple and that’s done really well for us and makes a lot of sense to people.
What’s not hot?
Seeley: IT services. You’re seeing these manufacturers, particularly Konica Minolta, pushing it hard. They’re doing everything they can to incentive you to sell it, but they’re missing that one piece of the pie, and that it’s hard for any of us to guarantee the great customer service we’re all used to doing [with our office technology customers]. I don’t know if I’d say it’s not hot though because it hasn’t really gone.
