In the most simplified of terms, a copier tech, like a physician, is tasked with discovering pain points and rectifying them. That’s about where the comparison ends. On the former count, there’s no give and take during the troubleshooting phase, just alert lights and error codes. There’s no smile offered by a repaired unit. There’s no personal interaction with the “patient” itself.
Sonny Beeskow began his career in the office technology realm roughly 10 years ago as a service technician. Armed with a degree in electronics technology, he gravitated toward the computer/networking division. With the digitalization of copiers and software, he found a home with Advanced Imaging Solutions’ solutions group…in more ways than one.
What Beeskow loves most about his newest venture is the ability to help salespeople and clients design and actuate workflow strategies through software, thus enabling them to improve efficiencies and productivity throughout their infrastructure. The interactive element provides a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.
“I really enjoy the customer interaction and creatively resolving the complex challenges that present themselves in today’s office environments,” said Beeskow, a 2021 ENX Magazine Difference Maker. “I believe the key to success is my commitment to following tasks through to completion and constant communication throughout the process with my external customers and internal coworkers. Communication is the key to success in all cases.”
Forever Home
Another significant shift for Beeskow occurred in 2015, when he joined Advanced Imaging Solutions, where he feels valued not only as an employee but as a member of the dealer’s family. He sees the company as his “forever home,” one that aligns with his professional values.
“The culture at AIS is one where everyone is valued and is an integral part of the success of our company and our customers,” Beeskow noted.
He counts a number of current and former colleagues as being integral to his own success, including Scott Pearson, who has shared valuable insight into that communication and follow-through that has made Beeskow so successful. Former co-worker Russ Fox provided invaluable insight into the networking/computer aspect as he became more proficient in connectivity and software. And in Stephanie Keating Phillips, Beeskow found a model for multitasking and solving complex issues through software solutions.
Beeskow appreciates how his company handled the pandemic and maintained staffing. He’s hoping to continue helping clients use technology in new ways so that they can exit the pandemic in a much stronger position. To that end, Beeskow plans to immerse himself in cloud-based solutions and the infrastructure that supports them. Outside the office, Beeskow and his wife, Michelle, have been married 31 years and have two children, Bradley and Lisa. They also have a granddaughter, Benson, with another (Aspen) expected in the fall. An outdoors enthusiast, Beeskow enjoys fishing, hiking, golf and riding his ATV.
