I don’t want to give away the store, but I’ve been reviewing the Elite Dealer nominations for the past six weeks and one thing that’s been obvious to me, albeit not all that surprising, is the number of dealers, big and small, who are already offering Managed Network Services.
And they’re doing it in all different ways. Some are acquiring IT services companies, others are partnering with organizations like Collabrance from GreatAmerica or Konica Minolta’s All Covered, and others are crazy enough to do it themselves from scratch. Unlike MPS, which some argue has become a commodity, I’m not sure if that’s something that will impact MNS. Meanwhile, it still represents an exciting opportunity for dealers brave enough to take the plunge.
On Wednesday I interviewed Scott Woolfolk, president of Documation in San Antonio, TX, for my November Dealer Spotlight article in ENX. Documation is one of those dealerships that has taken the plunge. I’m going to leave you with this quote from Woolfolk because it underscores what I’ve been reading in these Elite Dealer nomination forms:
“Managed Network Services is one of the greatest growth areas we have collectively in our industry. That excites me looking at the future because whatever we’re doing now this is going to be so much bigger when we have a new viable annuity stream coming from the customer by adding all these services. It’s a great space for the BTA channel to be in.”
I don’t know about you, but I think he’s right.
Thanks for reading.
