Sometimes you owe it to yourself to just get away. Don’t know why I feel guilty about taking five work days off to go on vacation, but I did. I was even planning on writing this column while away, but some way, somehow, I talked myself out of it and decided to focus on the vacation and not work. Sure I answered a few e-mails, but that was it. All in all it was a guilt-free vacation.
In case you’re curious, we spent two nights in Quebec City and four nights at Ile D’Orléans about 15 minutes outside of Quebec City. On Ile D’Orléans we stayed at this most wonderful B&B, Dans Les Bras de Morphée http://danslesbrasdemorphee.com/. This B&B puts the second B in B&B. Each morning we had a three-course gourmet breakfast, each course a gastronomical treat. Yes, weight was gained and now that we’re back home, it’s time to start counting calories again. All I can say is if you’re looking for a nice, relaxing vacation destination, I highly recommend Ile D’Orléans and Dans Les Bras de Morphée.
Now it’s time to get back down to business. While I was gone, the imaging industry didn’t come to a crashing halt nor did The Week in Imaging. Imagine that. The last 10 days had its share of news and depending on your point of view these were either big or small news stories. Among them, the MPSA announcing their 2013 awards, MWAi rolling out a cloud-based SAP, Toshiba releasing new color e-Studio MFPs, Konica Minolta introducing new color bizhub MFPs, EverBank adding a new member to its Office Products team, Office Business Systems selling its Toshiba telephone systems division, and BLI presenting a slew of awards. Just another 10 days in the imaging industry.
By the way, some of those stories can be found in News Bytes below while other news items from the month of July are on The Week in Imaging Website. Just visit the News Bytes to see more highlights.
