Between the Lines: Lean and Green

Scott Cullen

There’s a lot going on in The Week in Imaging this week and we’re going to get right down to it, but first the big news of the week and that’s the announcement that Toshiba has partnered with Adobe to launch Adobe LeanPrint, a desktop print optimization software that reportedly reduces paper and toner consumption by optimizing page layout. I say “reportedly” because I’ve been trained as a journalist to not take everything in a press release at face value (See News Bytes below for highlights from that announcement.), however, after sitting through a lengthy Webinar on LeanPrint last week, what was demonstrated was impressive. If I were an organization looking to reduce my print costs, LeanPrint would be at the top of my list of potential solutions to accomplish that. If you’re a Toshiba dealer, consider yourself fortunate that you now have this tool at your disposal. Believe me, it demos well. I’ll be delving more deeply into LeanPrint in next week’s issue.
