Between the Lines: Trending this Week

What a difference a week makes. I spent most of last week either in Las Vegas for the Konica Minolta dealer meeting or in the air flying to and from Vegas. This week, I’m home sweet home. I don’t know about you, but three days out of the office, as welcome as it is, can be brutal when you return. If you’re pretty much a one-man operation like myself and publishing a weekly, well you can pretty much guess how that goes…

Fortunately, I’m nearly caught up with my to-do list for the month and I’m now ready to present the final three trends pieces. I was hoping to feature more this month, but not everyone I asked was able to make my deadline or find the time to do provide me with an article. That’s okay, I know how that is.

What I asked for was comments on the most significant trends that will drive their business in 2012, the challenges they expect to experience going into the new year, and some general observations of what they have planned to help their dealer/reseller customers be successful in 2012. This week I’m presenting the final group of trends pieces from Canon, Ricoh, and NSi. Those along with our previous trends articles from Agiliant, BEI Services, DocuWare, ELFA, EverBank Financial, GreatAmerica Leasing, OKI Data, Photizo Group, Strategy Development, and Toshiba  paint a broad picture of the current state of the imaging and office technology, services, and solutions industry and what will likely drive it throughout the rest of this year.

New content this week includes:

  • The Consumerization of IT by Mike Morper of Notable Solutions, Inc.
  • Resisting Commoditization and Capturing Print Volume by Jim Coriddi of Ricoh U.S.
  • Transitioning Towards a New Delivery Model by Dennis Amorosano of Canon U.S.A.
  • January News Bytes
