Los Alamitos, CA (Oct. 24, 2024) – Epson today announced its new Auto Chart Reader Accessory is now available through Epson Authorized Professional Imaging Resellers. Designed to automate and simplify color management using the Epson SD-10 Spectrophotometer and Epson Edge Print, the Auto Chart Reader and Epson Edge Color Lite software solution extends color management capabilities. The comprehensive color management workflow creates color profiles and verifies and calibrates color, helping print shops save time and resources by avoiding reprints due to color inaccuracies.
“The Auto Chart Reader works with the Epson SD-10 and Epson Edge Color Lite software to bring a comprehensive color management solution to print shops, helping them achieve exceptional color results from a single manufacturer,” said Eric Holm, product manager, Professional Imaging, Epson America Inc. “This new solution offers print shops advanced color control without needing extensive know-how or a large budget, as well as providing consistent color as print conditions change with verification and calibration tools.”
The lightweight, portable accessory allows users to create, print and measure color charts to keep colors consistent and accurate, helping to save on time and costs. The Auto Chart Reader is easy to operate, automatically detecting and measuring charts on a wide variety of media, including thick media, without the need for manual alignment.
When paired with the Epson SD-10, the Auto Chart Reader provides quick, easy and automated color chart measurements. The compact accessory helps to quickly achieve precise, consistent and repeatable color regardless of changing print conditions, and can measure a single chart in about five minutes. Designed to better control color with little color management expertise needed, it can assist in the on-boarding of new media and creation of ICC color profiles to ensure accurate color on virtually any media.1 It also verifies color and calibrates profiles over time to keep prints looking great over the life of the printer. The Auto Chart Reader will automatically detect chart position and media thickness – making operation simple, and nearly hands-off. It is compatible with a variety of media up to 13 mm thick, including textiles, vinyl, acrylic and plastics.
The Auto Chart Reader includes a case for easy travel and storage when not in use. It comes equipped with Epson Edge Color Lite2 software, which integrates with Epson Edge Print software and the Epson Cloud Solution PORT3 to create, verify and calibrate color profiles for printers, providing a complete color management workflow.

The Auto Chart Reader is now available through Epson Authorized Professional Imaging Resellers for an estimated MSRP of $2,095. It is compatible with SureColor printers that run Epson Edge Print.4 The Epson SD-10 Spectrophotometer is sold separately. Click here for additional information.
