Alexandria, VA (Sept. 19, 2023) – Sign Manufacturing Day 2023, set for Oct. 6, will be a truly global event, with 106 companies participating around the world. In all, 91 companies in the United States and Canada, along with 15 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean, will be joining the event.
Each year, companies open up their doors to showcase careers in the sign, graphics and visual communications industry to students. Now in its 10th year, Sign Manufacturing Day has led to relationships between sign and graphics companies and local high schools, vocational schools and community colleges. Some students have completed internships, work-study programs and even landed full-time jobs post-graduation.
“This is one of ISA’s most successful responses to the worker shortage,” said Lori Anderson, ISA president and CEO. ISA produces the event in conjunction with the Manufacturing Institute. “Students often do not know about the tremendous career opportunities in our industry and the vibrant work that we do. Often, when companies share what they do, students want to join. Some have even completed applications on the spot.”
ISA provides the tools for companies to participate. While the event is typically held the first Friday each October, companies may choose to participate at different times to accommodate work schedules and local school schedules.
