Kansas City, MO (Sept. 9, 2021) — The Business Technology Association (BTA) will hold its annual Fall Colors Retreat, hosted by BTA Southeast, Oct. 21-22 at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina.
Open to office technology dealers from across the country, the event will feature: a manufacturer panel updating dealers on navigating 2021 and beyond; a dealer panel on diversifying your product and services offerings; three additional educational sessions led by industry leaders; time to network with peers and exhibiting sponsors during breaks between sessions; round-table discussions with exhibitors; and cocktails, dinner and an interactive rock-and-roll dueling piano show at the Grove Park Inn’s Vanderbilt Veranda.
BTA Southeast is offering an early-bird special for dealers. If you register and reserve your hotel room by Sept. 20, you will receive a $100 per night reimbursement (up to two nights) at the Grove Park Inn.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, with opening comments and the manufacturer panel, “Manufacturers’ Update on Navigating 2021 & Beyond.” The panelists will update attendees on the information shared in the panel held during the 2020 BTA Southeast-hosted virtual event, “Facing the Future Together: Navigating 2021 & Beyond,” which had 500 registrants. The discussion, moderated by BTA General Counsel Bob Goldberg, will bring back last year’s panelists: Laura Blackmer of Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc., Jim Coriddi of Ricoh USA Inc. and Mike Marusic of Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. Lunch will be held after the panel.
After lunch, the first educational session, “Let’s End the Attempts at IT & Do It,” led by Ray Stasieczko of TEASRA, The Innovation Channel, will be held, followed by breaks and round-table discussions with exhibitors, which will allow attendees to learn more about each company’s products and services. At 4 p.m., Ken Edmonds of 22nd Century Management will moderate the dealer panel, “Are You Diversifying Your Offerings?” The panelists will be Mike McCurdy of Integrated Technologies Inc., Twin Falls, Idaho; Tim Renegar of Kelly Office Solutions, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Kevin Van Kannel of UTEC, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Wrapping up the first day, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., attendees will enjoy cocktails, dinner and an interactive rock-and-roll dueling piano show on the Vanderbilt Veranda.
The second day of the Fall Colors Retreat will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast, followed by opening comments and the final educational sessions: “Selling & Compensating for Flat-Rate Managed Print,” led by West McDonald of West McDonald Co., and “Why You Need to Change Your Business Planning Process,” led by Edmonds. Breaks and round-table discussions with exhibitors will take place between sessions. Closing comments and exhibitor prize drawings will wrap up the event from 11:30 to 11:45 a.m.

BTA member dealer registration is $199, which includes the Thursday and Friday educational sessions; Thursday lunch, cocktails and dinner; and Friday breakfast. An additional attendee from the same member dealership is $99. Non-member dealer registration is $249 per person. A spouse, guest or child is $79.
