Indianapolis (Aug. 20, 2018) — Independent Stationers, a progressive nationwide member-owned business products cooperative, has entered into an exclusive multi-year agreement to offer an Association Health Plan (AHP) to its members through a collaborative initiative with an industry leader who has more than 65 years’ experience in creating and managing health care insurance programs. The target launch date is Jan. 1, 2019.
“Providing an AHP will allow our members to significantly reduce their current health care expenses and is another major step in our continued efforts to add membership value,” said Jeff Matthews, IS chief financial officer.
Tom, Bramlett, president of OEC in Mobile, AL, said, “With the significant increase in health insurance premiums that OEC has experienced over the last several years, I was excited to learn that Independent Stationers is exploring the possibility of offering its members an Association Health Plan to help lower our current health insurance costs. This is just another example of the progressive and innovative nature of Independent Stationers, as they constantly look for ways to make their member’s businesses more profitable.”
