Newark, NJ (April 10, 2018) — Panasonic System Solutions Company of North America, a Division of Panasonic Corporation of North America and an industry-leading producer of high-quality document management and imaging solutions, today announced that its KV-S1027C and KV-S1057C scanners are now registered EPEAT Bronze, meeting an extensive list of at least 33 mandatory environmental performance criteria. The rating differentiates Panasonic’s solutions from others on the market, giving government and commercial customers the option to select high-performance electronics that effectively focus on functionality, features and sustainability without limiting product selection.
Used by the U.S. government, EPEAT is the definitive global rating system for greener electronics and currently tracks more than 4,400 products from more than 60 manufacturers across 43 countries to help organizations streamline their purchases of sustainable electronics. Designed for high-volume front-office deployment markets, Panasonic’s KV-S1027C and KV-S1057C scanners offer enhanced operational functions for fast, uninterrupted scanning while meeting guidelines that address the full product lifecycle, from design and production to energy use and recycling. The resulting energy savings meet the diverse needs of professionals across industries looking for environmentally preferable and cost-effective electronic solutions.
“EPEAT is excited to see Panasonic’s continuing commitment to sustainability via the addition of the KV-S1026C and KV-S1057C products to the EPEAT Imaging Equipment product category,” said Nancy Gillis, Green Electronics Council’s CEO. “Thousands of public and private sector purchasers globally rely on the EPEAT ecolabel to make sustainable procurement decisions and by achieving EPEAT Bronze, Panasonic has made their KV-S1026C and KV-S1057C products more competitive in the marketplace.”
“We are thrilled that our KV-S1027C and KV-S1057C document scanners received the EPEAT Bronze rating, giving customers access to additional solutions that will help meet their needs both operationally and sustainably,” said Joseph Odore, Product Manager for Document & Imaging Products, Panasonic System Solutions Company of North America. “Panasonic is committed to offering best-in-class technology for knowledge and document management, and with this new rating we’re able to deliver multiple solutions that reflect their business environmental values and meet their sustainability goals.”
Since 2003, EPEAT has assessed products based on ANSI-approved public standards developed through stakeholder consensus processes and claims of compliance by manufacturers are subject to ongoing verification by qualified certification bodies. EPEAT currently covers PCs and displays, imaging equipment, televisions and mobile phones.
