Kansas City, MO (Aug. 23, 2017) — The Business Technology Association’s 2017 Grand Slam event, hosted by BTA East, will be held Sept. 13-14 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown in Philadelphia.
Open to dealers from across the country, the event will feature: a keynote address by Navy SEAL combat veteran and motivational leadership speaker Brent Gleeson; six additional educational sessions led by industry leaders; time to network with peers and more than 40 exhibiting sponsors, including a welcoming reception and breaks between sessions; and a Miami Marlins versus Philadelphia Phillies baseball game, including dinner in the Bill Giles Party Suites at Citizens Bank Park.
The hotel discount deadline is Friday, Aug. 25. BTA dealer members receive a $75 hotel room rebate per night, up to two nights. Registrants must attend the conference to get the rebates. This offer is limited to two hotel rooms for two nights each per member dealership as part of the 2-for-1 member dealer registration offer.
Grand Slam will begin at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, with welcoming comments and the keynote address, “Taking Point: Principles for Building a High-Performance Culture,” presented by Gleeson and sponsored by HP. A break, giving attendees time to visit with peers and exhibiting sponsors, will follow. Breaks between sessions on both days will also give attendees additional networking time. Following the break, the first educational session will be held: “Seat-Based Billing vs. Device-Based Billing,” presented by West McDonald, Print Audit. A welcoming reception will follow from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The second day of Grand Slam will begin at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, with breakfast, followed by opening comments and three educational sessions: “Sales Management: Leadership & Skills Necessary for Maximum Impact,” presented by Kim Ward, Learning Outsource Group; “Compensation Plans: Getting the Biggest Bang for Your Buck,” presented by Luis Gonzalez, SalesScoreKeeper.com; and “Going After the Big Fish,” presented by Kate Kingston, Kingston Training Group.
Lunch will be served after Kingston’s session, followed by the final educational sessions: “Is Your Marketing Program Taking You to the Danger Zone?,” presented by Aaron Dyck and Matthew McGuire, Clover Imaging Group; and “Digital & Social Media Marketing Tips for Time-Strapped Dealers,” presented by Harry Hecht, business coach. The educational portion of Grand Slam will wrap up with closing comments and exhibitor prize drawings. Dealers can also enter the BTA Events Sweepstakes during Grand Slam.
From 7 to 10 p.m., attendees will travel to Citizens Bank Park to see the Miami Marlins take on the Philadelphia Phillies from the Bill Giles Party Suites at the stadium. Dinner and beverages will be provided.

This one-day learning event will arm dealers with all the necessary components they need to successfully deliver a SBB program for managed print.
