New Course Added to Label Academy’s Study Program

The Label Academy’s curriculum has been extended with the addition of “Label Embellishments and Special Applications” to its list of available courses. Now offering seven training modules, the online learning program covers subjects ranging from conventional label printing to design and origination and environmental performance for dedicated label and package printing industry training.

The label embellishments and special applications module provides detail on more traditional methods of label enhancement using foiling, embossing and novel printing techniques, but it will give equal weight to the new technologies and innovations which are allowing packaging to engage a wider range of human senses.

In addition to the new module and its supporting reference materials, the Label Academy has also introduced two further study books. “Brand Protection, Security Labeling and Packaging: Technologies and strategies for optimum product protection” and “Die-cutting and Tooling: A guide to the manufacture and use of cutting, embossing and foiling dies, anvils and cylinders.” An invaluable resource and training aid, both books are aimed at anyone involved in producing or using labels or packaging of all kinds.

Offering students up to date learning materials for a range of technical and business subjects that are key to the label and package printing industry, the Label Academy combines training modules with free access to related articles and videos and paid-for supporting reference books. Once a student has finished an individual self-study topic, they can take an online exam to earn the relevant formal certificate.

Founder of the Label Academy Mike Fairley said: “Adult learning and retention improve when the student actively participates in the learning process, so this is another very valuable addition to introduce to and engage our Label Academy subscribers. The Academy’s content is broken down into digestible chunks and each of our text books and training modules are excellent building blocks for supporting professionals through their career, while helping improve industry expertise and best practice across label and package printing businesses.”

Students can enrol in the Academy and find full course details alongside related articles and videos free of charge at www.label-academy.com, while each online examination costs $250. Text books can also be purchased via the Academy or direct from Amazon.com.
