Founded in 1945 by Howard Eakes, the company has grown from two employees in Grand Island, NE to over 235 employees spanning 12 locations across Nebraska.

President Mark Miller was named Chairman of the Sharp National Dealer Advisory Council in 2015.
Eakes Furniture & Design division has received Steelcase Platinum Partner status in four consecutive years – a prestigious group of furniture dealers that represents the top 15% of the Steelcase dealer network.
Other distinctions include recognition as an Elite Dealer by enx Magazine five times since 2008, and the 2014 HR Employer of the Year Award presented by the Society for Human Resource Management Nebraska State Council.
