Number 1225 on the Inc. 5000 list, Square 9 Reports Three-Year Sales Growth of 357%.
NEW HAVEN, CONN., August 28, 2014 – Inc. Magazine has officially ranked Square 9 Softworks No. 1225 on its 33rd annual Inc. 5000 list, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. With 357% growth since 2011, Square 9 placed tenth on Inc.’s Top Connecticut Companies and banked the No. 109 spot in the Software Industry. Square 9 joins Alex and Ani, Tough Mudder and GoPro, among other prominent brands featured on this year’s list.
As a comprehensive look into present-day American entrepreneurship, the Inc. 5000 is compiled by percentage revenue growth over a three-year period. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies. Honorees of the 2014 Inc. 5000 list report an aggregate revenue of $211 billion, with 505,000 generated jobs over the past three years.
“We’re very grateful for the recognition our recent growth has received by Inc. Magazine, but are even more excited by how sustained this pattern has become,” stated Stephen Young, President and CEO of Square 9 Softworks. “When you look at our compound annual growth for each of the last five years, you begin to fully appreciate the commitment of the team we’ve built here at Square 9.”
Square 9 Softworks will be formally acknowledged among leaders from every corner of American business at the prestigious Inc. 5000 Awards Ceremony, October 15-17 in Phoenix. Speakers include some of the greatest entrepreneurs of this and past generations, such as Michael Dell, Martha Stewart, Chobani CEO Hamdi Ulukaya, GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons and more.
“What surprises me, even though I know it’s coming, is the sheer variety of the paths our entrepreneurs take to success, thematically reflecting how our economy has evolved,” says Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “But what doesn’t change is the fearsome creativity unleashed by American entrepreneurship.”
