When I asked Gary Willert, president and CEO of LMI Solutions about the trend that’s going to affect his business in the coming year and what LMI has in store to help its dealers be successful, he gets personal and cites sustainability as a key trend. “10 years ago recycling was big, but now it’s what’s the cost?”
He sees that changing and the interest peaking, which will likely have an effect on vendors like LMI.
“Recycling piece is going to be, especially for Fortune 500 companies; they all have sustainability programs and EVP’s of sustainability that are focusing on it. I see the trend as a big factor for guys like us; we don’t only have to recycle, but [meet] responsible recycling to standards. That’s going to be more important and mandatory down the road. Maybe not in 2014, but over the next few years it’s going to become more important every day.”
Looking beyond the sustainability trend, Willert discussed LMI’s plans to help their dealers be successful in 2014, particularly with ramping up their MPS programs. “We’re coming out with new marketing tools and videos,” reports Willert. “We’re trying to work closely with our dealers to help them launch their programs. That’s the biggest obstacle, getting it launched.”
LMI is bringing best practices from what they’ve seen with other successful dealers and bringing that to the masses. “Whatever we can do to help them,” says Willert. “We try to be a true partner for our dealers and that’s one way we can do that and hopefully we can help them grow their business.”
