DBL DISTRIBUTING, INGRAM MICRO'S CONSUMER
ELECTRONICS DIVISION, FOCUSED ON 3D TECHNOLOGY
With 3D Technology on the Horizon, DBL is Focused on Providing
Customers the Complete Package of Products and Accessories
SCOTTSDALE, AZ. – June 3, 2010
– DBL Distributing, Ingram Micro's Consumer Electronics Division
and one of the largest distributors of Consumer Electronics in the
United States, is prepared to answer the demands of 3D products
and accessories with the partnerships of its valued manufacturers.
DBL anticipates a surge of consumer demand as the product emerges
in the marketplace. DBL has positioned itself at the forefront of
this new technology with aggressive marketing tactics and selling
techniques.
After gaining momentum at CES, the consumer electronics industry
has witnessed the rapid rise of 3D technology. This technology is
beginning to change the way consumers watch movies and television,
bringing more emphasis on the entire home theater system. DBL
began their aggressive marketing efforts with a 3D Samsung flyer,
mailed to DBL customers. Designed with a 3D cover and 3D glasses
enclosed, this flyer described the emerging technology and
highlighted the Samsung 3D offerings. In addition to the highly
engaging sales flyer, DBL began actively marketing with email
blasts and flyers. DBL's sales staff has been fully versed in the
importance of 3D technology and the complementary products that
will encompass the 3D experience.
3D technology is expected to see sharp growth this year in the
industry. As a result, DBL is aggressively stocking items that can
be used to define the "complete home theater package." Shutter 3D
glasses are a crucial accessory to stock with each 3D TV.
Consumers will need to upgrade their HDMI cables to HDMI 1.4 to
account for the 240 Hz refresh rate needed to stream 3D movies,
video games and broadcasts. Monster Cable's 1000hd ultimate high
speed HDMI cable boasts a bandwidth greater than 15.8 Gbps to
ensure that it streams audio and visual with maximum speed and
clarity. Sound systems should be upgraded to ensure that the
consumer receives the "full 3D experience" at home. Atlantic
Technology's System 8200e THX Ultra 2 free standing speakers will
fill the largest domestic rooms with the best speaker quality over
a wide range of acoustic settings. For an in-wall speaker that
commands the same sound quality, DBL is carrying the IWTS-30 LCR.
This speaker infuses the same THX Ultra 2 Performance, but in an
in-wall speaker. Most importantly, 3D Blu-ray players will become
very important to the new home theater experience. Samsung's new
BD-C6900 brings the home theater to life with its powerful 3D
functionality. The BD-C6900 is the first Blu-ray player to combine
3D capability, web connected apps, built-in wifi and 1080p
up-converting into one product.
"3D Technology is a lucrative opportunity with a substantial
growth opportunity to sell an abundance of complementary products
to consumers. As consumers upgrade their televisions, retailers
have the opportunity to sell the entire entertainment package,
including 7.1 channel speaker systems, HDMI 1.4 cables, 3D
glasses, 3D Blu-ray players and complementary accessories," states
Tim Coakley, Vice President of Vendor Management and Marketing.
"DBL has engaged with our dealers on the importance of selling the
entire home theater package through our innovative 3D Samsung
flyer, aggressive email campaigns and knowledgeable sales staff."
3D Gaming is also creating a buzz in the consumer electronics
industry. As many of the gaming platforms develop games that
feature this new technology, consumer will need to upgrade their
home theater to accommodate this enhancement. As consumers
continue to grasp 3D gaming, DBL expects a surge in gaming
accessories. "3D gaming is taking this technology to another level
of functionality and adoptability," Coakley stated. "This new
channel opens new and exciting areas of growth for this technology
and the complementary products. The consumer demand for 3D gaming
will only grow as consumers experience video gaming at a whole new
level."
