Company On The Move

KLE

Been there, invented that, improved those, manufactured these.  Tony Stramondo, President and owner of KLE, has been involved in the imaging industry for over 35 years.  An MIT and UCSD degree holder, Tony has been an integral part of designing the hardware and color laser toner most of us take for granted.

Tony Stramondo was at the forefront of designing the laser printer.  Before Hewlett Packard, before Dell, there was Tony S working with the US government, designing equipment that could provide printed documentation of the secrets that were being beamed from spy satellites.

Throughout the past 35 years, Tony Stramondo has been creating the present and improving the future of the imaging industry.  Tony helped us enjoy the luxury and economy of laser printers and rainbow hues of affordable laser color toner printing.

Tony’s working life has been obsessed with finding solutions for the needs of his customers.  Tony Stramondo has the academic training, ability to think creatively and the desire to find a different, better way to accomplish a required result.  In the beginning, Tony’s peers would tell him that his ideas were not feasible.  Eventually they learned to seek out Tony whenever the impossible needed to be accomplished.

Tony’s mind must be a whirl of high-speed ideas.  When you talk with Tony, his words are spoken at machine gun speed.  It seems as if there is so much knowledge in Tony’s brain that the ideas are fighting their way out of his vocal cords.  It is a joy to talk with someone who has original ideas and the ability to make them work for others.

Tony is a natural educator.  He openly shares his knowledge of toner chemicals and foresight into the trends of the industry.  He believes, “Toner is king of the imaging industry.  With shrinking margins in so many other areas, there are still enormous profit opportunities in the imaging market.”

Tony provides the layman’s explanation of color toner. “There are two types of pigmented-based toner: the traditional pulverized and polymerized.  There is also sublimation toner.  We sell, mix and understand all three.”

“Sublimation is a new type of toner.  It actually impregnates the surface of the material without leaving any evidence of a lip or relief.  Sublimation is the process of taking a solid to a gas and back to a solid again.  There is no intermediate liquid state. This creates a vast array of uses for sublimation toner.  It can be used to print on paper, plastic, metal, cloth, fiberglass, wood and ceramics, to name a few.  It is a very economical way to add color, images or words to a wide variety of surfaces.”

KLE manufactures, customizes and sells all three types of toner. They can provide one laser cartridge of commercially packed color toner or 1,000 barrels of a customized color toner.  KLE is small enough to provide personal service to any reseller and large enough to fulfill a special need of a major manufacturer.  If your company has a special color toner requirement or a seemingly unsolvable problem, there is a solution.  Tony Stramondo and KLE Color Toner will provide your answer.  KLE can recreate all the colors of the rainbow, plus a few more.

KLE manufactures, blends, customizes and has in stock over 1,000 different types and colors of toner, ready for immediate shipping.  They are continually assessing the state of the printer market to keep abreast of the newest models and trends of this ever-changing imaging market.  KLE’s goal is to know what products you will need, before you need them. Because they are a manufacturer and a partner with many other manufacturers, they have the ability to collaborate with other high quality toner producers.

As a manufacturer, KLE accurately self-tests all the components they use in the production of their finalized product. They also test each batch of products at the conclusion of the manufacturing process.  KLE’s relentless attention to each detail of the manufacturing process allows them to honor a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all the products they sell.

Tony believes the more his buyers understand about the color toner process, the more sophisticated they will be when choosing the right vendor for their color toner needs.  KLE has the knowledge and experience to create great toner the right way. They have the tools, testing facilities, manufacturing techniques, quality control and passion for excellence to guarantee they do things the right way.  Their customers have learned to trust KLE’s ability to produce products equal to the OEM’s standard of consistency.

Unlike black toner that has a high content of relatively heavy iron oxide, color toner must be translucent.  It is not as heavy as black toner.  When you are buying color toner, it is the volume that should be measured, not the weight.  Color toner should be compared to buying a quart of milk, not a pound of butter.  Each container of color toner for the same equipment should have the same volume.

Each time any type of color toner is manufactured, it requires specific guidelines taking into consideration the precise charge, flow, color pigment, density, melting point, particle size and shape.  KLE manufacturing procedures require a 1% to 2% tolerance when matching the OEM’s specification.  Transfer efficiency and the integrity of the color saturation are vital components.  These elements all help to determine the number of prints a batch of toner will make.  A heavy bottle of toner is of little value if the majority of it goes into the toner waste tank or the print on the page is so thick it can be felt.

In addition to a wide range of color toner, KLE also sells a variety of coating chemicals that can be used in the laser cartridge re-manufacturing process.  Tony Stramondo believes that in most cases, “A properly cleaned OEM cartridge is superior to a foreign made virgin or remanufactured OEM cartridge.  Once the original integrity of the cartridge is broken, the inherent strength, roundness, straightness, conductivity ability and integrity of the doctor blade is compromised.”

Once the plastic system is altered (broken), there is stress and deformity.  Less than 1/1000th of an inch makes a difference when you are dealing with the size and volume of color toner.  You do not have to break the integrity of the cartridge, nor buy any replacement parts when OEM cartridge components are cleaned and reused.  We sell and use Electrostatic Developer Roller Renew to clean, add flexibility and return the roller to its original color.  I often prefer cleaning used OEM components

instead of cracking the case and putting in mystery compatibles.  By using the KLE manufactured and tested cleaning chemicals, a superior cartridge with a lower cost of replacement parts and labor is achieved.

KLE provides their customers with a lifetime of printer and color toner awareness. Tony Stramondo brings a passion for doing things the right way through knowledge and engineering principles.  KLE provides a complete choice of color toner supplies including bulk toner, compatible chips, cleaning solutions, customized manufacturing and customized packaging.  The KLE Florida headquarters is strategically located to ship individually packaged or bulk color toner needs to all areas of North America, Europe, Africa, and Central and South America.  KLE stocks over 1,000 SKUs of uniquely formulated color toners in bulk or ready-to-ship packaging for the end-user.
